project description

Raising awareness and funds for the fight against this terrible disease

For the Prinses Máxima Centrum in Utrecht, we made a significant contribution to the campaign "The treatment of childhood cancer must improve". This campaign, which ran for a month during the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, aimed to raise awareness and funds for the fight against this terrible disease. One in four children still dies from cancer, and the invasive treatments leave deep scars in their young lives. Our task was to tell the stories of three children with cancer through film, each with a unique story and battle. We began each video with close-up shots of an artist chalking something on the ground while the children shared their poignant stories. The climax of each video was a drone shot rising to reveal the impressive chalk drawing. The stories of Liv and Jahraino, which we filmed, were particularly moving. Liv, a young girl who lost her long hair due to chemotherapy, and Jahraino, a 7-year-old boy who lost his battle with a brain tumor, deeply touch the viewer. The deliverables of this project were multiple. A general video was made in which the three stories came together, as well as individual videos for each story. These were not only shared online but also displayed on billboards and screens throughout the Netherlands, reaching a wide audience. The drone images played a crucial role in conveying these stories in an impressive and memorable way.

The courageous story of Liv

Liv, affected by a tumor in her kidney, lost her beautiful long hair due to the chemotherapy. In her video, she expresses her hope that no one will have to face a tumor anymore. The final image shows Liv lying on the ground, surrounded by a chalk drawing of a beautiful Rapunzel braid, a symbol of her lost hair and her dreams for the future.

The Gripping Story about Jahraino

Jahraino was only 7 years old when he passed away from a brain tumor. His parents and little brother share his story, a tale of love, loss, and the unforgettable impact of Jahraino on their lives. The final image shows his family lying on the ground, surrounded by a lifelike chalk drawing of Jahraino, a tribute to his short but meaningful life.

Impactful drone footage

The drone footage from this campaign, projected on billboards and screens throughout the Netherlands, created an impressive impact. These images brought the children's stories to the attention of a broad audience in a unique way. Each aerial shot revealed the chalk drawings in their full scope, thereby reinforcing the powerful message of hope and the fight against childhood cancer.

Social Campaign

By filming the personal stories of Liv and Jahraino and providing all the drone footage, we have contributed to significant societal awareness. Our work reflects the deep emotional impact these stories have, both on an individual level and on the collective consciousness. This campaign was a powerful means to emphasize the need for better treatments for childhood cancer.
